Jaguar XFR-S (2014)

Jaguar XFR-S (2014)

The second model in Jaguar's ultra-high performance R-S range, the Jaguar XFR-S joins its XKR-S sibling in the exclusive 300km/h club and is a vivid expression of Jaguar's longstanding and legendary sports saloon lineage.
The Jaguar XFR-S incorporates engineering features from both the XKR-S and the all-new F-Type two-seater sports car to create the most driver-focused, agile and responsive iteration of Jaguar's award-winning XF saloon range. The Jaguar XFR-S has been developed by Jaguar Land Rover's specialist ETO division - its bespoke powertrain, chassis and body enhancements enabling it to push the performance boundaries.
Electrifying performance is provided by the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol engine which now boasts 550PS and 680Nm - up 40PS and 55Nm respectively over its XFR installation. The increases have been achieved through revisions to the engine management system and optimisation of the flow of air both into and out of the engine.
Fitted with an eight-speed transmission incorporating Jaguar's 'Quickshift' technology (developed for the F-Type), the increase in engine output allows the Jaguar XFR-S to accelerate to 60mph in 4.4 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds) and on to an electronically limited top speed of 186mph (300km/h).

Mitsubishi Outlander US-Version (2014)

Mitsubishi Outlander US-Version (2014)

The all-new 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander compact crossover is expected to be one of the most fuel-efficient CUVs with standard 7-passenger seating in the North American marketplace (pending EPA fuel mileage rating).
What's more, the mid-grade Mitsubishi Outlander SE model will now be available with Mitsubishi's Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) all-wheel drive system - a welcome feature previously reserved exclusively for the top-flight Outlander GT model.
Joining its slightly smaller brethren, the made-in-America redesigned 5-passenger 2013 Outlander Sport, as part of Mitsubishi's revised model lineup, the all-new 2014 Outlander elevates the level of luxury, refinement and fuel economy that consumers have come to expect from the affordably-priced crossover segment.
With its smooth surfaces and crisp, modern lines, the new exterior design of the 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander lends the Japanese automobile manufacturer's latest head-turning creation an air of elevated status and sophistication more akin to crossover vehicles residing within in a much loftier price point.
Perhaps the most prominent new feature of the exterior sheetmetal is the new streamlined front fascia, accentuated by a more urbane design that emphasizes aerodynamic efficiency as much as eye-catching appeal - an engineering necessity in these days of high fuel prices and increased fuel economy mandates.

Toyota RAV4 (2013)

Toyota RAV4 (2013)

The all-new 2013 Toyota RAV4 crossover SUV made its world debut at the 2012 Los Angeles International Auto Show. Toyota's fourth-generation RAV4, the world's original crossover sport utility vehicle, arrives in early 2013.

With a fuel-efficient four-cylinder engine, new six-speed transmission, two-row seating for five, and a host of available in-cabin technologies, Toyota RAV4 offers a nuanced balance of performance and all-around capability, including class-leading cargo capacity, striking design, class-leading eight standard airbags, and a compelling array of standard features. RAV4 will be available in three well-equipped grades: LE, XLE and Limited.
Performance, Handling, and Efficiency
For 2013, Toyota RAV4 will provide a number of powertrain technologies that help deliver an engaging driving experience. It will feature Toyota's 2.5-liter four-cylinder, which will produce 176 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 172 ft. lbs. of torque at 4,100 rpm. The optional V6 of theprevious-generation RAV4 will be discontinued.
Replacing the previous four-speed automatic will be a six-speed transmission with Sequential Shift. First and second gear ratios will be optimized for around-town performance. To keep engine revs lower at highway speeds and enhance fuel mileage, fifth and sixth gears will be overdrives.
Toyota RAV4 front-wheel-drive models have received EPA- estimated fuel efficiency ratings of 24 mpg city/31 highway, while all-wheel-drive models are EPA-estimated at 22 mpg city/29 mpg highway. A new Eco mode is designed to promote more efficient driving thus helping to enhance fuel efficiency.

Porsche Cayman (2014)

Porsche Cayman (2014)

It is built for driving through bends like few other sports cars can: the new Porsche Cayman sets new standards in its class for driving performance with a longer wheelbase, all-round new chassis and lower weight. The two-seater, newly developed from the ground up is - after the 911 Carrera and Boxster - the third sports car model series from Porsche to feature innovative lightweight body design.
The new Cayman is up to 30 kg lighter, depending on the specific model and equipment, and it consumes up to 15 per cent less fuel per 100 km than the previous model - despite higher engine and driving performance.
Porsche is also upgrading the Cayman with new optional features. For example, the sport coupé is now available with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) for the first time which controls the distance to the car ahead in traffic and vehicle speed, as well as a specially developed Burmester sound system. Another new feature for the Porsche Cayman is the optional Entry & Drive keyless system that can be factory-installed.

VW Scirocco (2009)

VW Scirocco (2009)

Over 34 years after the original Volkswagen Scirocco sports coupé made its debut at the 1974 Geneva Motor Show, triggering a new era of design and paving the way for production of new vehicles which included the original Golf, the third generation went on sale.
The new VW Scirocco remains true to the formula that made the first generation Scirocco such a success - with iconic design, two doors, four seats, front engine and front wheel drive. Yet despite its historic roots, this latest car is the most dynamic and technically advanced production coupé Volkswagen has ever built.
The new Scirocco is wider and longer than the Golf GTI, but almost ten centimetres lower, emphasising its sports coupé character. Its looks are all-new, and its 'face', with the Volkswagen roundel moved from the grille to the bonnet, defined a new era of design for Volkswagen.
At launch in the UK in September 2008, just one engine and one trim level was available: the top-of-the-range 2.0-litre TSI with 200 PS in GT specification. Since then, a further 1.4-litre 160 PS TSI petrol unit and two 2.0-litre common rail TDI diesels with 140 or 170 PS have joined the line-up, along with a lower trim level.
All Sciroccos sold in the UK benefit from Adaptive Chassis Control (ACC), Volkswagen's innovative system which allows the driver to select from comfort, sport and normal modes to define the desired suspension, steering and accelerator response settings for any particular journey. Other standard equipment includes ABS with ESP (Electronic Stabilisation Programme), six airbags, alloy wheels and air conditioning (2Zone electronic climate control on GT models). Options include a panoramic sunroof, leather trim and touchscreen satellite navigation.

Ferrari California (2009)

Ferrari California (2009)

The Ferrari California made its official debut at the 2008 Paris Show after a series of special previews on the web and during two dedicated events staged in Maranello and Los Angeles at which it received a hugely enthusiastic reception.
The Ferrari California is an exceptionally innovative car whose philosophy takes its inspiration from the spirit and emotions of one of the great Ferraris of the past, the 1957 250 California, a superbly elegant open top car designed for the track, which has, over the years, come to symbolise not only superior sportiness and performance but also exclusivity, craftsmanship and faultless sophistication.
This new car joins Ferrari's 8-cylinder range which is made up mostly of very high performance models. It also flanks the 12-cylinder flagshipFerrari 612 Scaglietti in the Grand Tourer category. The Ferrari California is a car with the track in its DNA. It is enormously innovative and will more than fulfil the expectations of even our most discerning clients, offering breathtaking driving pleasure and fun behind the wheel as well as extreme versatility of use and in-car comfort. It is available exclusively as a convertible with retractable folding hard top in either a two-seater version with a traditional rear bench or in the 2+ version which sees the rear bench equipped with seating for one to two passengers.
In line with Ferrari tradition, this model positively brims with innovative features. In addition to its retractable hard top and the aforementioned original 2+ concept, the new Prancing Horse car also offers: a new direct injection V8 engine, a 7-speed gearbox with steering wheel-mounted F1-style paddles coupled with a new dual clutch, a new suspension system (double wishbones at the front and multilink at the rear), the new evolved F1-Trac traction control system and Brembo brakes with CCM (carbon ceramic material) discs as standard (this latter feature is shared by the other models in the current range).

Porsche 911 GT2 (2008)

Porsche 911 GT2 (2008)

The Porsche 911 GT2 is the fastest and most powerful Porsche 911 homologated for the road to ever see the light of day. Its 3.6-litre horizontally-opposed six-cylinder power unit with biturbo technology develops maximum output of 530 bhp (390 kW) at a speed of 6,500 rpm. Maximum torque of 680 Newton-metres or 501 lb-ft, in turn, is maintained consistently over a speed range from 2,200 - 4,500 rpm. Acceleration to 100 km/h comes in just 3.7 seconds and the new top sports model within the 911 Series reaches a staggering top speed of 329 km/h or 204 mph.
Full of character, full of efficiency
The low-slung spoiler lip at the front and the rear wing so characteristic of this very special model give the Porsche 911 GT2 remarkable down force both front and rear, while at the same time maintaining the silhouette so characteristic of this top model. Low weight of 1,440 kg or 3,175 lb, rear-wheel drive and a superior drag coefficient of Cd = 0.32 ensure not only exceptional sportiness and performance, but also a supreme standard of all-round efficiency. As a result, the Porsche 911 GT2 consumes just 12.5 litres/100 km of premium plus fuel in the composite EU test (equal to 22.6 mpg imp), thus offering a standard of fuel economy exceptionally good for a car of this kind.

Mercedes GLK 350 4MATIC (2010)

Mercedes-Benz released official pictures and information of the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class sport utility vehicle. The versatile SUV will debut at Auto China in Beijing on Sunday, April 20, and make its U.S. dealer showroom debut in January 2009 as a 2010 model.
Powered by a 268-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 engine the 2010MY Mercedes-Benz GLK 350 will form the basis of the U.S. lineup, and will be offered in both 4MATIC and two-wheel-drive versions, riding on standard 19-inch 10-spoke wheels with 235/50 tires. The GLK features a 108.5-inch wheelbase and boasts unique design language which sets it apart from the rest of the highly successful Mercedes-Benz family of SUVs that includes the M-Class (which spurred the trend toward more car-like SUVs), the larger GL-Class, the crossover R-Class and the iconic G-Class.
Showcasing bold exterior design, generous cargo capacity and available 4MATIC all-wheel-drive, the GLK 350 combines the perfect balance of styling, versatility and performance. The 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class will be produced exclusively at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Bremen, Germany.

Ford Fiesta ST

Ford Fiesta ST (2014)

Small cars continue to be a hot segment in North America and with the new Ford Fiesta ST, introduced at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, Ford is expected to have the hottest hatch around.
Ford Fiesta ST, a performance model first launched in Europe back in 2005, is yet another proof point from Ford that small cars are anything but boring. In addition to a precision sport-tuned suspension and an improved braking system, Ford Fiesta ST packs a punch under the hood.
A new high-output variant of the award-winning 1.6-liter EcoBoost® four-cylinder engine propels Ford Fiesta ST with an estimated 197 horsepower and 214 lb.-ft. of torque. In comparison, Mini Cooper S makes do with 181 horsepower and 177 lb.-ft., while Chevrolet Sonic RS produces just 138 horsepower and 148 lb.-ft.
Unlike the competition, Ford Fiesta ST doesn't simply look like a performance car; it's got the guts to back it up.
"This is a rewarding car to rev," says Mark Roberts, Fiesta calibration supervisor. "With 177 lb.- ft. of torque available from just 1,600 rpm and 214 lb.-ft. by 3,500 rpm, Ford Fiesta ST gives the performance and feel of an engine twice its size. There's no waiting at all for the power to just push you back in your seat."
Ford Fiesta ST may be born with racing DNA, but buyers won't have to pay for that performance at the pump. Available exclusively as a five-door hatchback in North America and with a six-speed manual transmission, Ford Fiesta ST is projected to achieve up to 34 mpg.

BMW i3 Coupe Concept

BMW i3 Coupe Concept (2012)

The world premiere of the BMW i3 Concept Coupe sees the BMW Group unveil a particularly nimble and emotive version of its concept for sustainable premium-class motoring with zero local emissions. The study presented at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show has been brought out in parallel to the ongoing development process for getting the first ever all-electric model from the BMW i brand ready for series production, and demonstrates the potential for conceivably extending the model range. The state-of-the-art, clean-cut and open design showcased by the BMW i3 Concept Coupe represents a pioneering form of urban mobility that makes sustainability awareness an intrinsic part of the premium profile. Beyond this, the three-door model employs the design idiom that has been created especially for the BMW i cars to convey an undeniable sense of dynamism and driving pleasure.
The carbon-fibre body's visual impact is largely shaped by the gracefully flowing coupe roof line and the fresh interpretation of the BMW i "stream flow" design that can be seen in the side window styling, and gives an instant impression of lightness, transparency and streamlined aerodynamic qualities. On the inside, the sense of spaciousness typical of the BMW i brand is combined with an exclusive lounge-style ambience in the two individual rear seats. The BMW i3 Concept Coupe furthermore assumes the title of the world's first fully networked electric vehicle. Thanks to the inclusion of innovative BMW ConnectedDrive functions that have been devised by BMW i for use in production vehicles, operation of the navigation system as well as the information transfer between the vehicle, the outside world and the driver's smartphone has been geared towards the specific requirements of e-mobility.

Mercedes Ener-G-Force Concept

Mercedes Ener-G-Force Concept (2012)

Is it possible that the Mercedes-Benz G-Class will still be around in 2025? A cool design study from Mercedes-Benz demonstrates how the genes of the classic off-roader from 1979 may still assert themselves far into the future. It is based on the concept of a future police car developed for the Los Angeles Design Challenge.
The Los Angeles Design Challenge 2012 looks far ahead with a quest for the "Highway Patrol Vehicle 2025". Law enforcement will have to prepare for even more crowded roads with electronically monitored and guided traffic, a much larger population and changes in human behavior. People will still feel young and active even later in life. Outdoor activities will dominate leisure, as will the desire for freedom and adventure. The new times will also call for new police vehicles. They must be able to reach any place conceivable quickly and reliably - even far away from any pavement. And they must do so in an exceptionally environmentally friendly way using alternative energy sources. Enhanced green-car characteristics and off-road capabilities will be among the fundamental virtues of a police car in 2025.

KTM X-Bow R

KTM X-Bow R (2011)

The KTM X-Bow R has been completely revised and even if the new developments of the KTM X-Bow R are not obvious at first glance from its outward appearance, a lot of things have been changed around the carbon monocoque. The engineers did not restrict themselves to improvements to the engine. In fact there have been improvements in all other relevant components to ensure that an optimal performance can be achieved. And that is because the customers had clearly expressed their wishes that the super sports car that many of them want to take to the racing circuit weekend after weekend, should be even more extreme, even faster and even more powerful.
And what the customer wants is what KTM delivers. In 2011 the product range of the super sports car with the carbon monocoque includes the KTM X-Bow R, the most powerful version yet developed. The "R" is the result of concentrated further development of this spectacular lightweight sports car. In the rear of the "R" is a 300 hp 2.0 Liter TFSI engine from Audi with a maximum torque of 400 Nm and this ensures an unbelievable driving experience both on and off the racing circuit, because naturally the KTM X-Bow R is homologated for use on the road.

2013 Nissan GT-R

Nissan GT-R (2013)

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. announced the launch of the 2013 model year Nissan GT-R, which goes on sale in Japan on November 19, 2012 at Nissan dealers nationwide.
The 2013 model year Nissan GT-R features enhancements throughout the vehicle for increased performance, improved ride and handling, and greater customization.
Already considered a legendary supercar, the 2013 GT-R received evolutionary design and engineering enhancements based on feedback acquired from competing in the 24-Hours of Nürburgring race earlier this year. Notable modifications of the 550PS 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine include improved response in both the mid- and upper-rpm rev range, increased body rigidity, and specification changes to the shock absorbers, springs and front stabilizer. As a result, the vehicle's overall performance is dramatically increased, high-speed stability improved and ride quality is more refined. Additionally, a Premium Edition version will be offered that features rich Semiarinin leather and custom-colored interior as fashionable interior package, further enhancing the sense of quality within the cabin.

Audi A6 Black Edition

The devil really is in the detail for Audi A6 Saloon and Avant and A7 Sportback models as a new Black Edition specification lends the acclaimed executive ranges a distinctly darker air. The three new Black Edition models combine their more emphatic styling with the most extensive equipment list in each range, and are priced in the UK from £35,010 OTR to £56,785 OTR.
Black Edition distinguishing features start from the ground up with rotor-design alloy wheels with a dark titanium finish and either a 20-inch diameter in the A6 Saloon and Avant or 21 inches in the A7 Sportback. These stunning wheels amply fill their arches in the A6 helped by lowered sports suspension which is a standard feature of the S line models on which the new specification is based, and in the A7 Sportback by further lowered S line sports suspension.
The darker side of all three models is also expressed externally by a black finish for the grille and number plate surrounds and the window frame strips, and by privacy glass extending from the B-pillar rearwards. Fittingly, the A6 Avant Black Edition is also equipped with black roof rails.
Inside, the scene is set by distinctive Piano Black inlays which complement the sports seats upholstered in black Valcona leather and the black headlining. In A6 and A6 Avant models, the already comprehensive S line equipment list is also expanded by a BOSE surround sound system, DAB digital radio and the Audi Music Interface (AMI) for iPod connection. The A7 Sportback Black Edition gains the BOSE upgrade, and already features DAB radio and AMI as standard from SE specification and above.
In the A6 models the foundation S line specification also brings features such as exclusive S line exterior and interior styling enhancements, satellite navigation, light and rain sensors, Xenon all-weather headlights and LED rear lights, the Audi drive select adaptive dynamics system, the Audi parking system plus and keyless go. On top of these, the A7 Sportback also includes extras such as powered tailgate operation, electrically adjustable front seats and a powered retractable rear spoiler.
Tour de Force
The new Black Edition specification is an ideal accompaniment to the formidable 3.0-litre BiTDI unit with its 313PS and 650Nm of torque, which is available in all three ranges. It combines exceptional performance that perfectly suits the more purposeful stance achieved by the Black Edition upgrade, but can also deliver a remarkable 44.1mpg according to the combined cycle test. In the A6 range Black Edition specification is also available in conjunction with all engines from the 177PS 2.0-litre TDI upwards, excluding S6 models, and with either front-wheel-drive or quattro all-wheel-drive. In the A7 Sportback, it can be enjoyed in all versions bar the front-wheel-drive 3.0-litre TDI 204PS and theS7 Sportback.
